The Foundation of the Welfare of the Mentally Retarded of Thailand

The foundation for the welfare of the mentally retarded of Thailand is the first of its kind in Thailand that was founded in 1962 by a group of benevolent led by Princess Prem Purachatra to support children with mentally retarded bringing to the government support and promotion through the mentally retarded hospital under the Medical Department, Public Health Ministry. The group has formed the foundation which was granted by the Royal patronage of H.M. the Queen.
The objective of the foundation for the Welfare of the Mentally Retarded of Thailand is to provide physical, mental, intellectual and social rehabilitation in order to lead normal lives to those mentally retarded people in Thailand in response to the government policies and Social Act. to support education and welfare for individuals with disabilities which include people with mental retarded.
